Kent and Medway's Cancer Alliance Conference
More than 160 people, including patients, clinicians, social enterprises and charities, attended the first Kent and Medway Cancer Alliance Conference.
The cancer alliance welcomed stakeholders from across the area to share their work and learn from each other's experiences at the event last month.
It opened with the patient produced film Limbo Land - talking about the confusion and loneliness often experienced at diagnosis. It also features several clinical improvement talks, such as how to optimise multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to help have better, more focused conversations about patient cancer treatment journeys.
Ritchie Chalmers, medical director for the alliance , said: “It was a powerful day, full of engagement. I think everyone took away a message that we are doing great work to improve things for the patients of Kent and Medway and there are more innovations and improvements in the pipeline.”
