Many people experience ongoing physical, emotional and practical challenges during and after cancer treatment. Community organisations are well placed to provide accessible support that helps people manage these challenges.

We are particularly interested in projects that

  • improve awareness and management of the physical and emotional consequences of cancer treatment (e.g. fatigue, pain, anxiety, financial stress)
  • provide culturally appropriate and accessible health and wellbeing information and support
  • support self-management and confidence following completion of treatment
  • improve access to personalised care planning, holistic needs assessments, or support navigation
  • reduce inequalities in access to survivorship support
  • strengthen links between VCFSE organisations, primary care networks (PCNs), and neighbourhood teams to create sustainable support pathways.

Projects must demonstrate how they will

  • improve quality of life for cancer survivors in deprived communities
  • reduce avoidable system use (e.g. emergency presentations linked to unmanaged consequences of treatment)
  • complement existing NHS living with and beyond cancer pathways.
